Marcus Scotney

I am no stranger to long endurance events, coming from an orienteering background. I competed my first two day mountain marathon (the KIMM) back in 1994 with a fractured jaw! I continued to compete in mountain marathons till 2005 (I was the course planner for the first OMM in 2006) including two wins at the High Peak Marathon in 2002 and 2003 whilst also road, trail and fell running setting a sub 70min half marathon PB in 2005.

I ran m

y first ultra marathon in 2008, finishing 2nd after a close battle with international ultra runner Jez Bragg at the Devil O’ Highland. After winning the Draycote Water 35 Ultra I was selected to run for England at the Anglo-Celtic Plate 100km incorporating the British Championships. I have represented England five times at 100km, once at 50km and represented Great Britain at the 2010 World and European 100km Championship.
