SALLY FAWCETT

A Brief history of your running career to date

I started as a road runner, then got sick of following my watch, chasing splits, so became a trail and fell runner, that was after I ticked off the big goal of a sub 3 hour marathon! I love the longer races, and the hillier the better. I have now turned my back on road running, instead focussing on longer fell races and the 30 – 60 mile ultra distance races. Most of my running is in the Peak District but enjoy exploring in the Lakes too. Holidays are now a way to get trail races in abroad, this year I have loved my running holidays in Annecy twice and Limone

What is your greatest running-related accomplishment?

Selection for the Great Britain team for the Trail World Championships in Annecy 2015, in only my 10th ultra. I was part of the women's team who finished 6th team, and placed 27th overall, all in my first race on international trails!

What UD gear/Injinji products do you use?

AK vest or JJ women's vest
Trail Mini Crew Injinji socks

What is your favourite piece of UD Gear/Injinji product? And why?

Having suffered a stress fracture of the 2nd metatarsal in 2012 which left some neural damage around the web of the toe I like the extra support for the toes in the Injinji socks. I have also never suffered any blister problems, whether on wet fells or long periods on my feet during ultra trail runs.
I love the simple, lightweight, no faff design of the AK vest. It fits all the essential gear in and is easy to get access to.
